To reduce processing costs for the Sun's £9.50 Holiday's promotion.
Traditionally a post-only offer, GFM created a website to allow readers who had previously taken part in the promotion, to check availability, book and pay for their holidays online. The site detailed the parks, their facilities, displayed photography and even incorporated Google Mapping. The server capacity at GFM was able to deal with the high level of traffic directed to the site.
Reader loyalty is enhanced with the addition of this web facility, whilst the essential requirement to collect tokens from the newspaper was maintained.
Over 100,000 applications are now handled via the website, which has reduced the costs of manual handling significantly and given loyal readers greater flexibility and instant gratification when booking their short breaks.
