GFM Sponsors Sky Betting Charity GalaNovember 11, 2017
GFM recently sponsored Sky Betting & Gaming’s 2nd annual charity ball, which helped raise over £30,000 for Give a Duck – a charity that provides play therapy using specially designed Chemo Duck comfort toys to help children diagnosed with cancer to learn about how their treatment is administered. The fundraising event took place at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds on November 8th and was hosted by sports broadcaster Ed Chamberlin.
Making a Difference
The Give a Duck charity, which has brought ‘huggable hope’ to hundreds of families since it was launched 18 months ago, is run solely by volunteers and was set up by trustees Andrew Phillips, Karen Phillips, Helen Holmes and Elizabeth Hawkhead. Almost all of the money raised at the event will go directly towards the cost of providing 1500 Chemo Duck packages that are needed each year to help support children with cancer.
The gala welcomed over 700 guests from a host of UK businesses and included a drinks reception, dinner auction, live band and various other fun-filled activities that all helped to raise additional funds for the charity.
Supporting Our GFM Partners
Reflecting on the day CEO Peter Sakal stated: “We are extremely proud to have sponsored this event, which is in aid of such an amazing cause in the Give a Duck charity. The night was a huge success and that is testament to the great work the team at Sky Betting & Gaming have done in organising it.”
